Honeymoon in Morocco
We had a brilliant time in Morocco. This video was probably one of the best highlights of many, certainly for me. Idir was our guide and driver in the 4l diesel Landcruiser. The music featured is from a cd Idir gave me as a present at the end of our journey. He must have had 10 tapes of desert tribal music with him, of which he must have played only 4 over and over again, it kind of grew on me over the 3 days we were together. We got on well and he was in his element driving off road - took us a on a lot of back roads, well just tracks across the desert really. We felt like we were on a real adventure.
I haven't been to the Sahara before so didn't know what to expect. The day we drove to Merzouga (where these dunes are) we stopped by at Todra Gorge, however from then the weather deteriorated quite quickly, becoming overcast and windy. On approaching Mazouga we drove through an electrical storm, a sandstorm was in full force (which you see the beginnings of it at the start of the video) by the time we arrived at the Auberge du Sud (featured), and an hour after we arrived a rain storm set in. We were supposed to be staying in a Berber style tent not too far out in the Dunes that night, however we were offered a nice cosy room at the guest house, an offer we glady took. The weather the next day was postcard perfect.

Finally the day came. 30 April 2008
Sadly not all our family could make it in the end, however everyone else I believe had a good time with a nice a little holiday thrown in.
In Italy, as you may expect, the custom is to throw rice.
Here is the castle we got married in. I would say that that is romantic.. The weather was mostly cloudy, but the sun eventually came out and shined on us.
Mrs D looked absolutely radient..
Here are 40 of the 700 photos Gwen took of us at the wedding

Sauce Results
My faith in the judges impartiality from the beginning was not entirely 100% to be honest. My request that there should be blind tasting (for reasons you may glean from below) was dismissed out of hand without explanation - no real surprise there. The chili galore forum I should say is one of the best chili resource forums on the net that I would point anyone in the direction of who is interested in Chilies; however there is a strong oligarthy that will bluntly not take any criticism, and the forum over the last year has become nauseatingly clicquey to say the least.
I am now looking forward to a new Chili season - lets hope for a better summer and making new sauces and chutneys in 2008.
